Festival history

The festival has been in existence for over 40 years. Although on account of COVID-19 2023 will be the 39th edition.

The festival runs for four consecutive days, with the current ‘short’ format operating for the past three, organised throughout by the Guernsey Athletics Club (formerly GIAAC).

Starting on Good Friday morning and ending with a presentation on Easter Monday afternoon, the festival comprises a 5k road race, a 4.75 mile multi-terrain race (full course), a 4x1mile cross country relay and a 10k road race.

Each of the races is held on consecutive days at various locations around the island of Guernsey. Competitors may enter as many or as few races as they wish. The festival has a fine reputation for its quality and friendly competition from the front of the field throughout standards and ages.
