EY 5k Road Race

The opening event of the Easter Festival is a flat, fast, inland 5k finishing on the Footes Lane track in front of the home straight stand, which has proved to generate quick times in previous years.

Race start is 10:00

On the day registration takes place in the Garenne Stand from 08:300 and finishes at 09:00. Late entry fees apply.

Available at the Footes Lane complex. Spectators are advised to arrive before 09:45 or after 10:05 from the Varendes end of Footes Lane. There is room for spectators to watch the start in Footes Lane itself, but only in areas set off of the road. At the finish spectators can watch from the stand seating area or outside of the barriers around the track. As the race is so short and run on open roads, the Club requests that spectators do not attempt to follow the race along the course by any mode of transport. Access to the seating in the Stand is free to spectators.

Changing is available under the Garenne Stand. Post-race refreshments will be available in the Club Room, Garenne Stand.

Competitors are free to warm up on the grass areas around the Footes Lane complex, both around the athletics track and hockey pitch and on the large grass area across the road, or to use the roads should they so wish. None of the roads are closed until shortly before the start. Competitors will be advised to take due care, especially in crossing Footes Lane itself.

To take place in The Garenne Stand at 09:50. Thereafter athletes will be moved to the start and become under the control of the race starter.

The start will be in the road alongside The Garenne Stand, clearly marked with tape or chalk
